COSTS & SOURCES OF FUNDING
Fees are subject to negotiation with clients on an individual project by project basis. Fees are dependent on the time involved in delivering and preparing the training. Groups booking more than one course may be entitled to discount. The following is a guide to how we calculate the costs of organising TrainingPeople course(s):
| |
Activity |
Notes |
| |
Course delivery |
TrainingPeople courses may involve one or two trainers. The cost of delivery per day is the same irrespective of the number of trainers. |
| |
Course development |
In many cases little or no additional course development time will be required. However, some organisations find it valuable to have courses tailored to their particular needs. |
| |
Travel Time |
TrainingPeople charge travel time at a ‘per hour’ pro rata rate. |
Additional expenses are agreed in advance with client organisations and charged at cost. Expenses may include accommodation and meals, equipment hire (where organisations cannot provide AV equipment themselves) and additional printing.
Many organisations recoup TrainingPeople fees through charging course participants (for example individual membership organisations or umbrella organisations booking training and then advertising to their membership or within a geographical area or field of interest). In some case organisations are able to make a profit from training events which is then used to fund their ongoing work.
POSSIBLE SOURCES OF FUNDING
Voluntary and community organisations are often able to secure grant aid to organise TrainingPeople courses. Possible sources of funds include:
- International funding: A wide range of grant aid sources exist at national and international level – check by trying a web search, by checking with your local library or by enquiring to your local voluntary / community sector umbrella or ‘helper’ organisation.
- The European Union – see http://www.europa.eu.int/index_en.htm
- United Kingdom based organisations – publications on grant sources are available from the Directory of Social change – phone 020 7209 5151.
