FUNDRAISING COURSESAll courses are 1 day in duration unless otherwise shown. ORGANISING A ‘BIG GIFT’ OR CAPITAL FUNDRAISING APPEAL - 7 CRITICAL FACTORSOVERVIEWA ‘big gift’ or ‘capital’ fundraising appeal is about raising a significant sum of money (often extending into millions of Euros, pounds or dollars) from a relatively few wealthy donors. It is about persuading private individuals, trusts and, sometimes, companies to make substantial donations, often spread over a number of years, to a specific cause. In essence the approach is tailored to meet the individual needs of the donor. They keys to success include recruiting committed campaign leadership, developing a compelling case, identifying and researching a list of prospects and engaging in thorough, detailed campaign planning and implementation. WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS COURSE ?Fundraisers and other managers seeking to meet a specific ‘one off’ fundraising target (perhaps in connection with a capital building project) or those wishing to adapt and apply ‘big gift’ principles to their ongoing fundraising campaigns. TRAINING METHODSAll TrainingPeople courses are highly practical in nature and questions and comments are actively encouraged. No one is ever forced to participate at any of our courses but we do encourage maximum group participation. We make use of exercises, small group work, work in pairs and exercises such as quizzes and ice breakers designed to promote discussion and learning. The main points are illustrated by a mixture of PowerPoint, hand outs, use of a flip chart and video / audio (where appropriate). Our trainers always strive to provide actual examples of how the various issues under discussion have been practically implemented by individuals or organisations. |
