For large national charities this may involve establishing volunteer fundraising groups throughout the country, for smaller charities it may involve the establishment of smaller ‘friends of’ volunteer fundraising groups. In all cases, the involvement of committed volunteers can greatly enhance the work of any organisation and assist it in achieving its Mission. However, to be effective and to remain motivated and loyal to your organisation volunteers must be chosen well, placed with imagination, given satisfying work which matches their skills and interests and managed with skill.
