MORE ABOUT TRAINING PEOPLE COURSESTrainingPeople courses are delivered as follows:
The courses are highly practical in nature and questions and comments are actively encouraged. No one is ever forced to participate or ‘put on the spot’ at any of our training courses but we do encourage maximum participation. We make use of exercises, small group work, work in pairs and fun based exercises such as quizzes designed to promote discussion and learning. Our trainers strive to provide actual examples of how the various issues under discussion have been practically implemented by individuals or organisations. Unless otherwise indicated, courses generally last for one day. However, all courses can be delivered in a shorter (generally half day) or longer formats (generally two days allowing maximum opportunity for participation by those attending). The courses can be delivered during the working week, at weekends or as a series of two or more evening sessions. Residential sessions – often entailing a number of courses combined – can also be facilitated. In order to maximise learning we like to restrict group sizes to a maximum of 15 people although we have in the past trained 25 people and more at a day-long session. Although there are no minimum numbers we find that involving a minimum of 4 to 5 people allows participants to benefit from group interaction and networking. TrainingPeople undertake to discuss fully in advance the training needs of the group and, where possible, adapt the training material to take into account specific training needs. However, the development of large amounts of specific training may entail TrainingPeople charging for the development time required. We provide a full set of notes for all participants including a list of useful ‘Further Resources’. On the day we bring a number of books, printed and other materials illustrating ‘best practice’ within the training issue under discussion. Our trainers are always available during training breaks for one to one discussion. In addition to the courses described here, TrainingPeople would be pleased to discuss with you the design and delivery of training courses designed to meet any aspect of your organisation’s fundraising, personal development or general management needs.
